I was truly hoping to not only like this book, but to learn from it. Neither happened. It isn't that there's anything bad about it, but neither is there anything new or even any convincing or compelling argument or thesis regarding creativity. The info, derived from numerous interviews and correspondence with many "creative" people (which really turns out to be those who are in vogue in their discipline at the moment, but debatable on how creative they are--some are clearly more than others), could and should be interesting, and more importantly, could and should lend itself to some sort of rigorous analysis to identify trends. Apparently, the only analysis was averages and percentages, with no clear trends emerging anywhere (generally, each chapter on some factor was broken down into something along the lines of "X% responded this way, Y% said some other thing, Z% said yet something else, and the rest were scattered all over the place") followed by examples or quotes. The writing itself is neither academic (it's far too redundant, verbose, and imprecise), nor colloquial (too dense for that) so doesn't seem to have a target audience. For me, this felt like the first draft, where the author got everything down into some semblance of order. The next step would be to hire a good editor to help focus the message and a good data analyst to better find trends and identify some concrete suggestions or recommendations. There's probably some good information in here, but it's buried too deep in the poor, unfocused descriptions to be of any use to creative people or to those hoping to tap into their creativity.

Csikszentmihalyi’s Flow really blew my mind and I have been eager to read Creativity for a long time. This is not a “How to be Creative” book. This book examines the psychology of creativity and reads almost like a textbook. It’s not an easy read but there are some valuable takeaways for people from any background who want to think more creatively. I was also surprised that he focused more on creative people in the sciences than the arts. If you are going to read one of Csikszentmihalyi’s books I recommend reading Flow; Creativity is bonus material.

It covers, in considerable detail, role based security, RBAC, RAD, both EJB and CORBA solutions, and ends with a discussion of how you might build an integrated security system for a fictitous company called eBusiness.comOn the downside there are several minuses which will hopefully be corrected in a future edition1. The UML diagrams are incorrect, in that they nearly all have the aggregation symbol at the wrong end2. The fact that the book was written by several authors shows, in that the same idea shows up in several places in the book, without correlation. Not that there's anything contradictory about that. It would be nice if the different "definitions" or explanations were somehow collected in one place. For example, there's two discussions of security servers, with neither one aware of the other. The second discussion (p. 331-332) is not even referenced in the index.3. There's very little discussion of performance issues. This is a particular sore point, considering they spend considerable amount of space discussing (even promoting) EJB security with no mention of its downside (its too slow)All in all, though, I highly recommend this book be read by architects, and app developers as well as product managers before diving into security development for your application

Up to now, this book is unique in its kind, as it really covers the security aspects of distributed applications as we see them more and more these days. The authors do not only cover (very new) technologies and standards from the domain of EJB and CORBA, they also make us aware of their integration with legacy systems and network security. I liked the way they try to pass their knowledge and experience to the reader. Despite the fact that it is written by three persons, the book is of a consistent style. An example application serves troughout the book to explain the coved topics. Altough it is a small and simple application (real world is tougher...), it shows amazingly well what problems have to be dealt with in the enterprise. The book won't give you answers to all your question, but will certainly help to find your own. I recommend it reading from cover to cover, later chapters do refer to earlier ones. Definitely a useful book!

This is my go to book for understanding OpenId in general and how it works in Azure. He does a good job of explaining the concepts and options.This helped tremendously with building a product using IdentityServer3

I'm not a developer, and still found this book extremely helpful. It's an excellent resource for claims-based authentication concepts and background. The first few chapters are a great overview of identity protocols and concepts, helpful for non-developers that want to understand how everything works. Second half of the book is aimed at developers and writing code.

This book was well written and clearly lays out the structure of the various standards as well as outlining the various ways that authentication systems are built and used. Chapter Two clearly defines all the identity systems and how they have been used and how WS-* morphed out of usage except in government areas such as CJIS. The examples demonstrate how OWIN plays within web applications and Azure.

Most developers won't need the whole picture when it comes to using AD to do authorization. If you just want to use ADFS or Azure Active Directory you might be better off just using online documentation. This book goes in depth, if you are into that sort of thing. But its not a reference book.

Vittorio is a well-known expert in the field of web application authentication with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS). That expertise comes shining through in this book, which is a great combination of history, theory, and hands-on exercises. This book meets a serious need in the community for better understanding of Open Authentication (OAuth) and OpenID Connect. In my opinion, the general lack of understanding within some corners of the development community is preventing organizations from effectively moving to the cloud because their development teams do not understand how to make the transition with mission-critical applications. I routinely see code intended for use with Windows authentication being applied to web applications, and developers can't figure out what's wrong. If you cannot adequately explain OAuth and OpenID Connect, if you can't implement these technologies in both server-side and client-side apps, then get this book and read it cover to cover. This book has the information you need to be relevant in a cloud world.

Tremendously helpful book that covers information about some of the inner workings of authentication with Azure AD that are hard to come by. Also helpful background on some of the why's of the protocols and implementation choices in Azure AD. I'd recommend this book to anyone building apps (or even just administering) with Azure AD and wants to really understand what is going on.

This book is ostensibly about Azure AD, and the code samples are all in C#, but it could have just as accurately been entitled "Everything a Modern Developer Needs to Know About Claims-based Authentication, OAuth 2.0, Open ID Connect, and Related Technologies." The conceptual overview material is fantastic - I finally feel like I "get" the details of OAuth2! Highly recommended.

Great book! I like the his style of providing general background information prior to jumping into the technical details!

Let me start by saying we are Irish. We have on the average about 25-30 people at our house every St. Patrick's Day. The entire house is decorated, inside and out. We decorate a tree, every year, and the leprechauns leaves presents under it for the grand kids. We do garland, and a village, lots of balloons, pictures, lights, and even a hidden pot of gold (gold wrapped chocolate candies.) We always felt it was important to celebrate, our heritage, with our children, and friends, so this all started years ago, when my 4 kids were little. Now it has become even bigger and better, and being carried on with the next generation. I cook on the average about 25 pounds of corned beef and cabbage, with all the trimmings for the day. And of course the Green beer and green punch flows endlessly. Curious George, has always been a favorite for us and the grand kids, so when I ran across this book, needless to say I was ecstatic. This book is so cool, it covers all the basics for the holiday. Wearing of the green, trapping leprechauns, pot of gold hunt, Irish step dancing, luck of the 4 leaf clover, the traditional meal -corned beef and cabbage, and of course the St. Patty's day Parade. It is a perfect way to help explain the holiday to a young child. The illustrations, are bright and colorful. The text, is rhyming, and fun for the kids, I also like that it is a board book, the little ones can enjoy it, all they want, with no worries of damaging it.

This book is different than the other holiday Curious George books - it divides each page into sections with a poem about that topic. Makes for a longer read, but you could also just do one tab at a time. Classic illustrations and a great addition to your St. Patrick's Day collection, especially since books for this holiday are hard to find!

This is the BEST series of childrens' books ever created.The stories are well written and the artwork (the original artwork - not the later movie artwork) is absolutely excellent.George is an immortal character and one which really should NEVER go out of print when so many generations of kids (and adults) so enjoy his adventures.This St. Patricks' Day adventure is no different: informative, lovingly illustrated and a lot of fun.It's also one of the rare books on this subject that doesn't mention drinking.LONG LIVE CURIOUS GEORGE!!!

It’s is honestly so hard to find a St. Patrick’s Day Book for a young child. So I was happy to find a Curious George that covered the subject. It’s quite thorough and I appreciate that. We also have the Curious George Thanksgiving Book and it is also thorough. If you are looking for a book to cover St. Patrick’s Day then this is a good book for a young child.

I purchased 2 of these for my grandsons. I have always loved Curious George and have purchased other books in the series. These books are durable for their little hands and although they may be a little young, they will enjoy the explainations about St. Patrick as they grow.

My daughter just can't seem to get into this one...and she LOVES books and stories. She always shuts it before I get too far into the story.

We love Curious George books in this Nana house! The 2 year old granddaughter was so excited when I opened the box and there was another George book.

Cute little book. My grandson LOVES Curious George so I ordered it for him for St. Patrick's Day. The reason I only gave it 3 stars whas I thought it had sound when you touched the side pictures and it didn't. But all in all, a cute book.
