Author of numerous articles and books on Palestine and the modern state of Israel, including: A History of Modern Palestine (2004), The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (2006), The Forgotten Palestinians (2011), The Idea of Israel (2014), The Biggest Prison on Earth (2017). Thomas L. Thompson, Professor Emeritus, formerly research Fellow for the TÃ¼binger Atlas des vorderen Orients from 1969-1976, was Professor of Old Testament at the University of Copenhagen from 1993-2009. He has produced more than 20 books, four of which have been translated into Arabic, and 170 lesser works related to the history of Palestine and biblical literature. I think the book is fantastic!Perfect in the sense that it is suitable for a lay person and can take them about as far as they want or need to go into the science.I think the set up of the Contents is really good. It shows that the answers to questions you have been thinking about are inside.My wife is on Actonel and she told me to order her another copy so she take it to her next appointment with her Doctor and give it to her.My daughter, a brand new (PharmD) looked at the book for quite a while and was very impressed. She said that she was not expecting it to go as deep as it does. She says she thinks it is very suitable for a medical professional to use to refresh themselves quickly. She is going to keep a copy close by.I ordered 4 more copies for friends

This is one of the most recent books I could find on the subject of bone health. I checked it out of the Library and liked it so much that I decided I needed a copy in my own library. I am in my 60's with Osteopenia, but this book is for every age. The sooner you read it and apply the tips to your life or your child's life, the better. It is for both men and women.

I am giving this book to everyone in my family. It addresses a topic that most people ignore. Having good bone health is within everyone's reach. It is like having the specialtist (Dr. Schneider) in your own home patiently explaining what you need to know to reach this goal. Sure, there is plenty of technical stuff for the Doctors who will read this; but, she writes so that we all can understand and learn from it. She even summarizes each topic with what she calls The Bare Bones, in case you missed the key points of the chapter. It is a great reference book.

Dr, Schneider's book, Bone Health, is a major contribution to understanding what we need to maintain healthy bones throughout our lives. Two years ago a bone density scan revealed I had osteopenia. My mother had osteoporosis. Bone Health reveals some of the things I've already been doing such as weight-bearing exercises, more calcium and vitamin D intake. However, Dr. Schneider, in a succinct, clear and understandable way, gives us information on all the medications available and some of the cutting edge treatments in development. This book is a must-read for both men and women of all ages. I'm sharing it with my daughter.

Dr. Schneider's book is an essential tool for the care and maintenance of healthy bones. In my opinion, it is a must read for medical professionals and those of us wanting to equip ourselves with the best tools to maintain a healthy productive lifestyle. The exercise and nutritional tips are practical and useful for everyone but particularly for those facing the challenge of maintaining healthy bones.The format is user friendly and the "The Bare Bones" chapter rap ups are concise and to the point. The good news - it's never too late to start caring for your bones. I'm thankful to have come across this book and highly recommend it!!

This book provides practical information on a wealth of topics and will give the reader a good understanding of the many aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. Best of all, you can read it cover to cover or focus on the particular topic you are interested in. It is so well written and organized. It is a book you will keep on your book shelf as a resource when questions comes up about low bone density and find relevant information.

What I like about this book is that it includes an emphasis on men's bone health. The author says, "Osteoporosis is arguably the most understudied and underdiagnosed disease in men." I also appreciate Dr. Schneider's comments about exercise, nutrition and alternative medicine. This is a well-researched and easy-to-read book.

This is an exceptional book, written in a clear unstandable manner, it covers everything the average person and doctors not in the field need to know about bone health. Highly recommended.

I have coached my kids' Odyssey team twice now and we've always done fine in the long-term problem, but had trouble with the Spontaneous Problem. Just home from this year's competition, where we would have moved on to state had they been able to build a structure, any structure, I decided if I coach again, I will never let that happen to my team again. I've looked before and never found much in the way of resources for practicing spontaneous problems, so have just pulled ideas from online. I've been a fan of the film for decades, and I was thrilled to find as a book being reissued. I just finished reading 'Harold and Maude'. This was one of those books that I savored, reading in a few concentrated sittings on my window seat with a mug of coffee or tea. You can only do things for the first time once, and some of them deserve to be stretched out as much as possible. This book is the perfect companion to the movie. There are a few scenes that are lengthened or not in the movie, but it is dead letter perfect. I cannot imagine reading it without having seen the movie first, so that you have Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon's voices in your mind as you read. It offers glimpses into Maude's philosophies that are gems. We get more of Glaucus the sculptor's story. I LOVE this book. Best treat I've bought for myself in ages.

I've seen the movie repeatedly, but didn't know there was a book. There are a few surprises. If you're a Harold and Maude fan, you'll love it. If you aren't, what's wrong with you? Get on board.

Thoroughly enjoyable and heartfelt. It is pretty much a novelization of the film script - in this case the novel was written by the screenwriter Colin Higgins. I love these characters. These two people found each other at just right moment - each fulfilling a service for the other that allowed them to move forward on life's journey. My story is not the same - and yet elements are similar. I had a couple of Maude's in my life - older and wiser and terrifically generous of spirit - they changed the direction of my life.

Delightful, unforgettable story of two outsiders born into chronologically distant and different times, who, yep, find each other. Three, count'em , three hilarious main characters and more, will embarrass you if you're reading in public and you're prone to embarrassment, because you will be snorting and other disgusting and wonderful noises will come out of you.Made into an equally fabulous movie way back, last century.

I saw Harold & Maude again after maybe 20 years & fell in love with this awesome movie! So of course I just had to read the book! I found the book very easy reading & quite sweet. In this world of hate & discontent, it was heartwarming to read a story of pure love. The age difference of H & M is soon overcome by the simple fact that he was never shown true love until he met Maude. Maude just reeked of unconditional love & Harold was swept away w/ her funloving personality, wit & charm. He saw he age, but still was drawn to her, & found an attractiveness to her which overlooks age. I found the ending sad, but full of hope! Maude taught Harold about love & how to really have fun! I feel his future was bright w/ hope! He learned to value himself & how to relate to others. His mother was really a terrible mother, mothers really matter to how a child grows intellectually. When you aren't shown love, its very hard to love others. Thanks goodness he ran into the lovely Maude!

The translation of this book is excellent. It is funnier in English than in French, but you will still laugh out loud. And if French is your only language then you;ve no choice.HArold And Maude is a cuolt classic and is brilliant. this particular book would be a remarkably good assigment for a French Class or for one who is learning the language on his own. The copy I have has differnt artwork than the one presented here and is titled "HArold e Maude" but it's the same book. The translation is by Jauliens and is outwtnading.If your fan of this film or book then go ahead and read it in french. there are French wors that capture the essence that English doesw not.I love it.

A story about growing up, about choosing life, about being you. It's artistic, it's funny, it's wise.. Well worth reading, and doesn't take long to get from front cover to back cover.

As much as I love the film I looked forward to reading the book since I knew it contained aspects of the characters personalities the film didn't. My favorite movie of all time is well encapsulated in this novelization.
