This is a beautiful book with a handy glossary and index for searching for particular topics. It is broken into 5 sections: Early civilizations, classical age, medieval period, early modern period, modern period. The book has a pigeon hidden in each scene and a star for when the "child" of each page is actually a real person who lived/lives. A great reference book for young historians.
Outstanding!! This is a beautiful illustrated summary of life for a child from the Ice Age through today, including projections for children in the future. A very interesting summary of activities, fashion, lifestyle, historic events and issues that a typical boy or girl would have experienced. Information is concise and varied.
What a great way to get children interested in history. I really like the view of history from a child’s eyes. History is usually presented to kids from an adult perspective. I was pleased to find this book. This book is broken down by era and Includes information on food, homes, family life, historical events, and more. I highly recommend this book!
