Another fantastic story by Toni Shiloh. This is the second book in the Freedom Lake series. It was fun to read Michelle and Guy's story. They each had so many issues they were both working through. I loved how the author covered sensitive issues with tenderness and God's love. She brought in colorful word pictures and deep emotions.There was a quote in the book which grabbed me; "Think of it like a swimmer going against the current. He will exhaust himself. All his efforts are futile. But when he goes with the current, he gains more speed and covers more space than he ever imagined. " This is talking about letting God lead and not fighting it.I truly loved all the drama, humor and romance. Guy's two twin girls were so entertaining. I enjoyed the way they talked and their personalities. I also enjoyed reading about some of her past characters and all the interaction between them. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.I highly recommend reading this series and getting to know Jo, Evan, Michelle, Guy and soon Chloe, and Darryl's story. So Good!
My goodness! Grace Restored was an amazing book! It is book two in the Freedom Lake series, and if you read book one, then you have already been introduced to Guy and Michelle. However, Grace Restored can also be read and enjoyed as a stand alone novel, in my opinion.This was a story that I had trouble setting down. Guy and Michelle both had serious pain, guilt, and even regret in their lives that burdened them and made it hard for each of them to trust in God’s grace. I loved that Grace Restored was a reunion story for Guy and Michelle. They had dated in high school and this was the story of them finding not only each other again, but also finding the Lord.The author tackled some very serious and painful issues in this book, yet did so in a beautifully sensitive way. I loved reading about this group of friends and the Bible studies that they held. The author was able to fold in so much Biblical truth into the storyline in a completely natural way. I’m looking forward to reading book three in the series soon!
When I first started reading, I struggled to get into the story; but once Michelle's secret was revealed, I was all in. I could connect to the character's hurt and pain, and I wanted to know how it would all resolve. In my opinion, "Grace Restored" is ten times better than "Returning Home". It was a story that showed us that Jesus will not allow us to be stuck in a place of pain and sorrow. We must comfort our demons to be set free, and we must not hold on to the past or we won't be able to heal. There was a lot of healing and forgiveness that needed to take place. It is amazing how God will allow us to see our situation through what someone else is going through; to set us free, to wash us clean, and to help us breathe clearly.
What a beautiful story of God's grace and forgiveness. Michelle and Guy have both experienced tragedy. Both are in need of forgiving themselves and one another. I love watching their separate journeys with God, and their journey to each other. I'd give this 10 stars if I could. If you haven't read any of Toni's books yet, you need to get started -- right away 😊 You're missing some great stories! The author graciously gifted a copy of this book. I could hardly put this book down! It is so well written and all the themes of grace forgiveness and comfort intertwined in a Christian love story is absolutely amazing! I am so blessed by the characters and their adult situations that led them to mature and grow in the relationships with each other and most importantly with each other! This is a must read! Toni Shiloh has outdid herself!!!!!
I love this series. Each book makes me more excited to get the next one. In this novel about Michelle and Guy, old secrets threaten to destroy their renewed relationship. This book really digs deep into contraversial matters and brings to light how God wants to forgive and restore all of us. Add this one to your book list and you'll be glad you did.
It begins with the story of Michelle Thomas who seems to have it all. She is a successful lawyer with her own law firm. She carries a dark secret from 13 years before and has to do with guy Pierre who left Freedom Lake at that same time without saying goidbye.Will thier lives be turned around and find forgivesness.
What a great second trip to Freedom Lake. I loved Returning Home, the first one, and the follow up hasn’t disappointed. What a great story of healing and renewal, very cleverly packaged with compelling characters and lots of plot twists. Bravo.
